Boy (Short Fiction)
Australia, 2018, 4 mins
DIR: Noko Imai

In a public restroom for men, “boy” does his makeup until he is interrupted by a knock on the door. Visually powerful, this is the first short film by student filmmaker Noko Imai, shot locally in Melbourne.

Listen (Short Documentary)
UK, 2018, 5 mins
Dir: Jake Graf

Featuring young trans actors in trans roles, ‘Listen’ depicts some of the myriad of struggles experienced by trans children and teenagers every day, with frankness and honesty, and gives a much needed voice to this oft-maligned section of the community.

Anemone (Short Fiction)
UK, 2018, 18 mins
Dir: Amrou Al-Kadhi

A British-Nigerian teenager expresses their non-binary identity to their conservative community, through the magic of marine life.

Little Miss Westie (Documentary)
USA, 2018, 76 mins
Dir: Joy E Reed & Dan Hunt

Follows two transgender siblings as they navigate puberty, school, family and transitioning during the Trump era. Ren is competing in the Lil’ Miss Westie Pageant; her older brother Luca is coaching her on posing, make-up, and talent. Fortunately, he really knows his stuff, as he competed six years prior when he was living as a girl.
