tilde: Melbourne Trans & Gender Diverse Film Festival
tilde is Melbourne’s international film festival created to showcase and support the work of trans and gender diverse filmmakers along with works that have trans and gender diverse content. Stories have the power to heal, connect, agitate and educate. We hold a vision of having more positive and authentic representation of gender diversity and a desire to create more dialogue between, as well as the sharing of stories across, communities both locally and globally.
tilde events are for everyone who is open to being part of hearing, telling and sharing these stories.
tilde launched its first festival in 2014, and in November 2015 tilde ran our second successful film festival. With hundreds of people attending those festivals, sell out sessions, rich and diverse programs, incredible atmospheres and an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. We extend our deep gratitude to everyone involved, including sponsors, supporters and of course our fabulous audiences.
In 2016 we will be running a series of satellite events and returning with the full festival in 2017
